INTRODUCTION:
Marine Walk Shopping Centre (“Marine Walk”) is governed by these Conduct Rules which are incorporated in terms of the Salta Retail Sub Association’s (SR Sub-Assoc.) Memorandum of Incorporation. The SR Sub-Assoc. falls under Salta Master Management Association (“Association”) which governs the overall Salta Sibaya Development.
In order to provide a safe, secure, and pleasant environment for all components within Salta Sibaya Precinct, we ask for your compliance with the Conduct Rules herein. Marine Walk has a zero-tolerance policy, and violators will be asked to leave the property.
PURPOSE
This document provides guidance for Marine Walk to support a safe and clean environment for employees, customers, and the public and to ensure retail tenants, are informed of the regulations that are relevant to their business operations.
Code Of Conduct for Marine Walk Shopping Centre Visitors
- Introduction:
The Marine Walk Shopping Centre (“Marine Walk “) has a core set of values which cover the behaviour of our employees and extend to all our relationships with visitors to the centre.
Marine Walk prides itself on being a safe, relaxed, and friendly environment for all of our customers. To ensure that we achieve this, we ask that all customers abide by our Code of Conduct.
Marine Walk respectfully asks that customers:
- Dress appropriately, shirts and tops must be worn at all times.
- Do not drop litter.
- Refrain from loud and boisterous behaviour.
- Always follow health and safety instructions including those delivered by Marine Walk team and communicated via signage throughout the centre.
- Marine Walk consistently aims to maintain high standards and does not permit the following:
- Any threatening or violent conduct towards our customers, retailers and centre staff.
- Intimidation of whatsoever nature. Any groups demonstrating no intention to shop may be asked to leave the centre.
- Unsociable behaviour that is deemed detrimental to Marine Walk including foul and or abusive language.
- The wearing of any item of clothing which restricts the view of one’s head/face (e.g., hoods, motorcycle helmets, balaclavas) with the exception of religious headwear.
- Animals, except for registered guide dogs.
- Hawkers, Vagrant, Beggars, Loiterers, informal traders, or Stalls.
- Distribution of literature, solicitation, demonstration, and special promotion or using the property for any purpose other than business activities as permitted is prohibited without prior written permission from Centre management.
- To ensure our customers are free to shop and relax, Marine Walk does not permit the following:
- Petitions, leafleting, canvassing, commercial photography, or surveys unless pre-authorised in writing by Centre Management.
- The playing of excessively loud audible music, busking or the selling of goods unless pre-authorised in writing by Centre Management.
- Use of bicycles, rollerblading, micro-scooters, skateboards, Roller Skates, Heelys, or sports balls in the centre.
- To ensure the health and safety of our customers, Marine Walk asks that customers respect and show due consideration for the building, environment, and users of this space by:
- Adhering to the no smoking policy inside Marine Walk and in the vicinity of doorways, walkways, and parking facility.
- No Congregating in front of and around ATM Machines.
- No Tampering with Security and fire firefighting equipment.
- Keeping all fire escapes clear – except in the event of an emergency.
- Not climbing or sitting on any balustrade, barrier, fence or railing.
- Not overloading, moving, vandalising, or loitering around public seating areas.
- We encourage customers to enjoy their experience at Marine Walk however, we reserve the right, to ask customers not to take film or pictures if deemed inappropriate.
- Please do not feed the wildlife in and around Marine Walk.
- Vehicles and Parking:
- Driving Lessons, Skateboarding, roller skating, rollerblading and carrying out of mechanical work are not permitted in the parking area. No vehicle is to be left overnight in the parking area or delivery area without permission from Centre Management.
- Taxis are to drop off and pick up occupants at designated areas, failure to do so may result in refusal entry onto the property.
- Unlicenced vehicles, non-road worthy vehicles are not allowed to enter the premises.
- All drivers to have a valid driver’s licence when entering Marine Walk.
- Trolleys and baskets to be stored in allocated storage bays.
- Parking incorrectly or not in designated bay may result in vehicles being clamped.
- Drivers shouldn’t speed, turn carelessly, or drive irresponsibly.
- All person’s parking in the parking facilities shall refrain from throwing trash, ashtray contents, or other debris on the parking areas.
- Sitting in vehicles for prolonged periods is prohibited at Marine Walk Shopping Centre.
- Drivers to be alert at all times, be aware of remote jamming & report suspicious behaviour to security immediately.
- At all times Centre Management shall have the right to designate the particular parking areas to be used by any or all employees of tenants in Marine Walk and any such designation may be changed from time to time. Tenant and Tenant’s employees shall park their cars only in those portions of the Common Area, if any, designated for that purpose by Management. If Tenant or Tenant’s employees park their cars in restricted parking areas or areas designated for patrons and/or customers only, then Management may cite and/or tow any such cars at the cost of the vehicle owner.
- When visiting Marine Walk, the following legal conditions must be adhered to:
- The consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited except within designated licensed premises.
- Any act of vandalism towards property belonging to Marine Walk or our retailers will be prosecuted.
- Clear access routes must be always maintained for emergency services.
- Weapons of any type are not permitted on Marine Walk.
- Security Guard, Bouncers, bodyguards or any other form of security personnel shall comply with the South African Firearms Control Act and the Private Security Industry Regulation Act & Security Officers Act Code of Conduct for security service providers.
- General
Marine Walk and its appointed security officers reserve the right to deny any person/persons failing to adhere to the above Code of Conduct from entering the property and have the right to escort them off the site. In addition to this, any person who persistently ignores any of the above or commits a crime will be excluded from the centre, for a time to be determined by Centre Management, whose discretion and decision shall be final in all exclusion matters.
- Marine Walk is equipped with CCTV cameras to capture and record day-to-day activities in Marine Walk as part of our ongoing duty of care to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers.
- This list is not all inclusive and may be modified at any time by the centre management.
- Marine Walk is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas.
- Violation of this code of conduct may result in expulsion from this property in addition to any other legal remedies that Marine Walk may choose to exercise.
- Marine Walk is private property, and no rights shall accrue to the public by virtue of the public’s entry into Marine Walk.
- This “Code of Conduct” is not intended to deprive any person of their applicable civil rights or liberties under the law.
RIGHT OF ADMISSION RESERVED:
All persons entering Marine Walk do so entirely at their own risk, the Owners, Management, Contractors, Agents and their Directors and Employees shall not be responsible or liable in any way for any injuries to or the death of any person or any harm caused to any person or for the loss or destruction or damage to any property arising out of any incident on these premises of whatsoever nature and by whomsoever caused and by whatsoever cause arising including negligence.
